Our Story

We Shake the Hands
That Grow the Coffee

TRY Coffee builds on the work of Project TRY, a social enterprise creating sustainable and inclusive economic opportunities for marginalized women and youth.

In the highlands of Sabah, indigenous women farmers cultivate coffee with deep knowledge of the land, often without fair recognition or stable income.

We work directly with these farmers, not only to ensure fair and consistent pricing, but also through ongoing training and capacity-strengthening workshops focused on sustainable farming practices.

At the same time, we train underserved youth as baristas, creating pathways into meaningful work.

More Value Stays With Farmers

We partner directly with small-scale farmers in Sabah, removing layers in the value chain.

This creates pricing stability, enables closer collaboration, and ensures farmers retain a greater share of the value.

Fair Pricing

Above-market rates that are not tied to volatile commodity pricing.

Direct Relationships

Ongoing, hands-on engagement with farming families across harvest cycles.

Long-Term Commitment

Continued investment in farmers through training, quality improvement, and market access.

Farmer capacity building and sustainable practices

Growing with the Land

We work with farmers through training and knowledge-sharing, focusing on sustainable practices such as natural fertilization and soil care.

These methods support healthier farms, better yields over time, and more resilient livelihoods.

Natural Fertilization

Composting and organic soil care that builds long-term fertility.

Sustainable Practices

Farming methods that protect both the land and the community that depends on it.

Shared Knowledge

Training that grows with farmers over time, building skills that last beyond any single season.
